1. When will I see results from a BOTOX Cosmetic treatment?
Most patients see the full effects of an injection treatment within 7 days.
2. Is there anything I need to tell my doctor?
If you have a muscle weakening neurologic disorder (e.g., myasthenis gravis) or are pregnant or are trying to become pregnant, your doctor should know. Botox should not be done under these medical conditions.
3. Will I still be able to make facial expressions?
You will have normal facial expressions except for those which were treated. Most botox treatments are done for furrowing between the eyebrows and crow' s feet wrinkles around the eyes during smiling.
4. What will happen to the frown lines between my brows if I choose not to continue treatments?
Once botox wears off, the frown lines will return to what they were before you had a botox treatment.
5. Do treatment results differ?
In theory, they should not but they can. Different experience with the injector, how the botox is mixed prior to injection, and how many units of botox are given all can make a difference in the results of a treatment.
6. What BOTOX Cosmetic is not.
Botox is not an injectable filler. It will only soften wrinkles that occur when one makes a facial expression. It will not change how a wrinkle looks when your face is static (not moving any muscles).
7. What can I expect from BOTOX Cosmetic treatment?
A temporary but very effective reduction in the amount of wrinkling seen in a treated area.
