Botulinum toxin induces muscle relaxation and help with eliminating these lines at least temporarily.


2. Who should not use BOTOXCosmetic?

Patients with prior allergy to the medication, inflammation at the site of infection, some muscular dystrophy and pregnancy should not use Botoxcosmetic.


3. Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?

As long as the dose injected is not excessive it should look natural.


4. Are BotoxCosmetic and Dysport interchangeable?

Both are Botulinum toxin products. They are done by different companies, come in different packages and have a different unit system. Different physicians have different preferences regarding the use. Both work well, the effect will depend on the injecting physician.


5. Why do Botox and Dysport carry a boxed warning?

These warnings are an FDA requirement to inform the public about the potential issues that could happen with any drug use including botulnium toxins.


6. What type of anesthesia will be used for my Botox treatment?

Topical, ice or block could be used for the injection. It is well tolerated without the need for a block in most cases.
