1. When will I see results from a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

The relaxation of facial muscles to reduce the formation of fine lines by BOTOX Cosmetic injections typically takes up to one week. Repeated use of BOTOX Cosmetic will soften the appearance of existing lines and prevent new ones from being formed into the skin.


2. Is there anything I need to tell my doctor?

You should let your doctor know the medications you are currently taking as well as any medical or health problems you are currently diagnosed with. There may be some conditions, such as myasthenia gravis that the doctor should know.


3. Will I still be able to make facial expressions?

You will still be able to make facial expressions with BOTOX Cosmetic injections. A qualified injector will be able to accurately assess your face and determine the points to inject to soften your wrinkles while still leaving you with animation in your facial expressions.


4. What will happen to the frown lines between my brows if I choose not to continue treatments?

The muscles that cause the line to form between the brows will continue to wrinkle the skin in that area and over time this line will become etched into the skin and will become deeper with time.


5. Do treatment results differ?

All patients are different with unique anatomy and desired outcomes. Treatment results therefore can differ from patient to patient depending upon these factors. In addition, the amount of BOTOX Cosmetic needed to achieve the desired effect can differ from patient to patient.


6. What BOTOX® Cosmetic is not.

BOTOX Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment-it is temporary and its effects generally last about 3 months. BOTOX Cosmetic is not a dermal filler-i.e. it does not fill in lines or creases. BOTOX Cosmetic is not a replacement for surgery, rather it complements your existing anatomy and surgical procedures. For example, if there is excess skin and laxity of the upper eyelid area, perhaps a brow lift and an eyelid lift would be an indicated procedure. If the skin is deeply creased by aging or severe sun damage, BOTOX Cosmetic will not remove the deep creases from the skin.


7. What can I expect from BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?

Softer frown lines and wrinkles and a more refreshed and relaxed look. The longer one uses the product, the more preventative its benefits become---it will stop the lines and creases from forming in the first place. There is minimal pain on injection and no down time.
